Hola Familia!

It sounds like you guys had a wonderful week! I am happy that Clara has made a great friend and that everything is okay with you guys! That stinks that the lawn mower died! You guys are gonna have to cut the grass with the push mower! That stinks.... hahaha! It will be good for Carter and Samuel! Maybe there's another riding lawn mower in store... i don't know, haha!

We had transfers last week. I stayed in the area and my companion left! So now I'm the District Leader of the District Galeras.  My companion has been in the mission 6 months and his name is Elder Peralta and he is from Arequipa, Peru. We've been working extremely hard during the past week! We had 37 lessons and found 11 new people to teach! The work here is progressing really well and my companion is an extremely hard worker! We're going to see people get baptized during these next 3 months!

Right now were teaching 3 families. They're all progressing really well, but one of them isn't attending church on Sunday. Mostly because they don't want to wake up at 7 in the morning so that they can get there at 8. However the other two are progressing really well, but one of couples needs to get married! So were going to work with these families so that they can be eternal families!

I'm out of time unfortunately. I have to write President Erickson an email every week, so I don't have as much time to write you guys!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CLARA! I saw your video with the sombrero and you were awesome! I love you Clara!!!!!!!!

Love you guys very much and I hope you're doing everything you're supposed to!

Hola Familia!

Well it appears that you guys had a great busy week; full of school and soccer! While it's getting warmer up there in the states, it's starting to get cold here! At night the air is finally starting to get chilly, so I have to close the window. It's fall here! Whoo! Finally! I haven't experienced winter in a year. I've had 2 springs and 2 summers! hahahaha! So I'm pretty excited for cooler weather here in the coastline desert of Lima!

So I've had a great last week of this transfer! We've found 4 families to teach! One of them is already married so that's really awesome! Some of them we've been teaching for awhile, but marriage is the problem for them. I'm going to try my hardest to help these families progress to be eternal families. The work here in las Galeras is progressing really well and there's always new people to teach! The work here is the best!

So... I should be getting a new companion tomorrow! Elder Benavides has been in this area 6 months, and in this mission after 6 months, you're definitely leaving! I have 3 so I'll have 1 or 2 more transfers here in Las Galeras. Maybe I'll train a new missionary or just show the area around to another missionary. I'm ready to do whatever the Lord wants me to.

So during my time here in las Galeras I've learned quite a lot and I'm really thankful to the lord for what I've learned. I know it's definitely going to help me later on in life. One of the many things I've learned in my time here is how important it is to have a venting session as a companionship. In spanish theres a really cool word called Mejorar, in english it would be the phrase "to make something better". God sent us here to earth to make ourselves better ,so that one day we can become like him, we can "Mejorar" through faith, repentance, and keeping the commandments of God. So, if we don't let people know what they can "Mejorar" they can't progress and can't "grow up". If we don't tell them what they need to improve, they're never going to. So I invite you guys to have a sort of venting session as a family so that you guys can tell each other what you're doing thats good, and what you can improve, NOT what you're doing bad, rather what you can make better. However, the key is NOT TO GET MAD. If you get mad during one of the family venting sessions, read 3 Nephi Verse 29. Then ask yourself, do I have what this verse says? And who does this come from? Then stop being mad, take the correction and "Mejorar" or make yourself better! Thats one of the many things that I've learned in my time here in Las Galeras!

So I'm not sick and I'm losing weight. I was 89 kilos and now I'm 84.

I hope that you guys are great, and that youre doing the things that youre supposed to, like Reading your scriptures, praying, and having family home evening.

Love ya guys!

Hola Familia!

I looks like you had a good week and congratulations to Samuel and Carter on the soccer wins ! Haha! So this time I will write in Spanish! I hope you are studying your Spanish, so you can understand what I'm writing!

During the week we had 32 lessons and found some new families to teach! One family is a family of gold! They're already married! That is very rare here in Peru! So we are very grateful for what the Lord has given us! We also had a baptism on Saturday! It was good! But my camera was not loaded ... so I have no pictures of the baptism! The Lord's work is progressing here. We hope to have many baptisms in May. Some families have to get married, so they will have to wait until May! We will be going to the El Parque de Las Aguas, a really cool park today! Find it on Google Images! So that's what's happening in missionary work here in the Galeras!

I loved what they the Apostles and the Prophet said in their talks at the General Conference! Of course I listened in Spanish and I understood every word they said. Now I think and have dreams in Spanish. haha! It is really true that the language comes with time. If you ever get called on a mission outside of the States, where you have to speak another language, calm down, Do not worry about the language- it will come. We will study the General Conference talks in the Liahona in May!

I have eight months in the mission today! Time goes fast! I can remember the CCM like it was yesterday! I have learned a lot in the time I've had here in Peru and am so grateful for what I have experienced. Well I think that's it!

Hope all is well during the week, and that you do the things the Lord asks of us. I love you very much and be good!

Hola Familia!

It sounds like you guys had a great week and enjoyed General Conference and Easter Weekend. During the week we taught lots of people, but the coolest thing that happened was the activity that the ward did!

We had an activity called "Puertas Abiertas" or in English- Open Doors. We had a lot of success with this activity! We received 24 references from the ward and contacted 80 people in 4 hours! It was amazing, because of the activity we have lots of people to teach! I'm really grateful for the members of this ward, and to our Heavenly Father for the success that we saw. During the activity the participants  learned about the life of Christ before, during, and after his ministry! They also learned about the Resurrection and the Book of Mormon! It was amazing! I've never seen this much success from a ward activity! It was great!

So, I think this week we will have a baptism. We're really grateful for the work that we have and are going to have in Las Galeras!

So General Conference was amazing! I really loved all of the talks that were given! I loved Saturday! Everything was about how the family can and should be. It was great! I dont have anymore time to write because we have to go to the offices today.  I'll talk more about general conference next week! I will also try to upload photos this week!

Love you guys!
